Masking Fixtures

In this project the shot peening masking fixtures the customer was using were only lasting 5-10 cycles. Redesigning these and using TECH's RTV molding, urethane fixtures increased the life to 60-70 cycles per fixture.

The customer began this project by putting clay on a stick and molding it with their hand to the shape they wanted for a joystick. TECH, INC. laser scanned this clay model and made a SLA prototype using the laser scan data. After the customer was satisfied with the prototype, it was used as a master pattern to create an RTV mold. TECH, INC. then used the RTV mold to manufacture dozens of production parts for the customer.
